What is Touchnet?
Touchnet is Appalachian State University's secure online student billing and payment system. Students can use Touchnet to view account balances, make payments, enroll in payment plans, view billing statements, and access 1098-T tax information.
Steps to Access Touchnet
- AppalNet is the student portal used for academic, financial aid, and Touchnet account access.
- Touchnet is the Billing & Payment Center within AppalNet, used for viewing statements, making payments, and managing refunds.
Follow the steps below to access Touchnet and login through AppalNet:
- Go to appalnet.appstate.edu
2. Select the Student Tab
3. Click the third option – “Student Account Options”
4. Select “Billing & Payment Center by Touchnet”
5. Once in Touchnet, the user will select from the home screen one of the needed options below:
- View Statement
- View Activity
- Make a Payment
- Payment Plan

Consent to the Payment Agreement
- Standard School Consents
- Payment Agreement
Note: If a student is trying to access the Consent to the Payment Agreement for Fall 2026 it should be located on the right side of the screen. (screenshot unavailable)
Note: If a student reports trouble accessing their student account, confirm they are logging in through AppalNet using their official App State credentials. If errors continue, refer to the Touchnet Login Troubleshooting article for next steps before escalating.
