This Knowledge Base article outlines how students can choose to receive their IRS Form 1098-T electronically through the Touchnet Billing and Payment Center.
1098-T Consent Prompt in Touchnet
When students log in to the Touchnet Billing & Payment Center, they will see a pop-up titled "Paperless 1098-T Option" before accessing their account.
They may choose one of the following:
“I Do Not Consent” – The 1098-T will be mailed.
“Accept Consent” – The 1098-T will be delivered electronically.
Clicking the “X” in the top corner also defaults to mail delivery.
View or Change 1098-T Delivery Preference
Students can update their delivery method at any time:
Log in to the Touchnet Billing & Payment Center
Select “Consents”
Edit the current 1098-T delivery selection
Note:
Selecting “I Do Not Consent” means the 1098-T will continue to be mailed via USPS.
Selecting “Accept Consent” enrolls the student in electronic delivery.
1098-T Release Timeline
The anticipated release date for the 2026 Form 1098-T will depend on federal processing, but the expected availability is the week of January 25, 2027.
