This Knowledge Base article explains payment deadlines, actions to avoid schedule cancellation, and next steps if a schedule is canceled or declined for payment protection. It also covers common email notifications and how to verify a student’s cancellation status.
When Is the Bill Due?
Bills are due upon receipt.
To avoid cancellation of classes 8:00 AM on August 11, 2026, we ask that one of the following actions must be completed by August 7, 2026.
Steps to Avoid Schedule Cancellation
Students can protect their schedule by completing one of the following:
- Pay the Current Account Balance.
- Enroll in a Touchnet Payment Plan and make payments as scheduled.
- Consent to the Payment Agreement for Fall 2026.
- If you DO NOT have a prior term balance, log in to the Touchnet Billing & Payment Center and select Confirm my Schedule on the Payment Agreement for Fall 2026 Classes – Schedule Confirmation consent. You will receive a verification email in a couple of days after confirming your schedule.
- Only the student (not an authorized user) can complete this form.
- By consenting, students agree to pay all current and future term charges even if payment is delayed due to processing time.
- The agreement is available through midnight on August 10, 2026.
Note: Students with prior-term balances are not eligible for schedule protection via this form.
Confirmation: Completion of any of the above steps triggers an email confirmation within two business days verifying that the schedule is protected.
Once confirmed, the student will remain protected unless a payment is rejected by their bank.
How to Verify Schedule Protection Status
Students can check their schedule protection status by following these steps:
- Go to appalnet.appstate.edu.
- Select the Student tab.
- Click Student Accounts.
- Select View Schedule Cancellation Status.
- Choose the Fall 2026 term.
The system will display one of two results:
- Confirmed: Student has met at least one requirement to avoid cancellation.
- Not Confirmed: No qualifying action has been completed.
Note: Status updates are processed daily through weekday batch processing. Students may need to wait until the next update for the changes to take effect.
If the Schedule Has Been Canceled
My Student’s Schedule Has Been Canceled — What Can I Do?
If a schedule has been canceled, it means that none of the above actions were completed before 8:00 AM on August 11, 2026.
- Registration is closed for the remainder of that day.
- Students may re-register at 3:00 PM on August 11, 2026, if no past-due balance exists.
- Any outstanding balance must be paid before attempting to re-register.
- Course seats are not guaranteed. Students needing to rejoin a specific class must contact the instructor directly for manual approval.
My Student’s Schedule Was Canceled in Error — What Should I Do?
(Applicable until 2:00 PM on August 11, 2026)
If cancellation was caused by an administrative error, the student must immediately contact the appropriate department (e.g., Financial Aid).
If no error occurred, the student must re-register beginning at 3:00 PM that same day.
Authorized User Access
Why Can’t I See the Payment Agreement as an Authorized User?
The Payment Agreement Form is available only to the student in the Touchnet Billing & Payment Center under Consents & Agreements.
Authorized users do not have access to this form.
Email Notifications and Meanings
- “Your Schedule Has Been Confirmed for Fall 2026”
This means the student has met at least one of the requirements to protect their schedule, and their classes will not be canceled.
- “Your Payment Agreement Request Has Been Declined”
This means the student clicked “I DO Consent” on the Payment Agreement form in Touchnet but had an outstanding balance from a prior term. The student must first pay the past-due balance before resubmitting the agreement request.
Financial Aid
If a student contacts Student Accounts stating that their financial aid covers the Fall 2026 term and they received a cancellation notice, or they are calling to confirm whether their 2026 financial aid will be applied to Fall 2026 charges, follow the steps below:
Students should contact the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@appstate.edu before August 11 so their account can be reviewed.
In the meantime, students can protect their schedule by logging in to the Touchnet Billing & Payment Center and selecting Confirm My Schedule under the Payment Agreement for Fall 2026 Classes – Schedule Confirmation Consent option.
After confirming their schedule, students will receive a verification email within a few days.
